The Oyster Inn has transformed trips to Waiheke Island. Always conveniently close but inconveniently lowbrow when it came to hotel accommodation, the island now hits the mark when it comes to sleeping over thanks to this three-roomed hotel.
And what rooms they are – light and casually sophisticated, thanks to Katie Lockhart’s interior design. The 80-seat restaurant, with its second-floor verandah and whitepainted woodwork, is the kind of room you want to linger in all afternoon sucking back oysters and rosé.
